Hometown Hollywood

And the Oscar goes to...

All of those who braved Winter Storm Titan, (one of the first this winter to not quite live up to its billing), to participate in the name of giving back deserve an Oscar of their own. At the very least, those folks deserve a free car wash. That said, I had an amazing time at People Working Cooperatively's official Oscar Night event at the Hilton Netherland Plaza downtown on Sunday, March 2. PWC helps people get the home repairs they need in the form of restoring heat, water, and electricity. There are currently 300 people in Cincinnati on the wait list for PWC's assistance.

The night's theme was the '80s, and I dressed accordingly in punk rock 1987 attire while my date, Ann Blocksom, decided to give Madonna a fishnet nod in a black lace mini dress and gold crosses. Even Boy George would have approved.

If I were the Academy, my Oscar pick would go to co-chair Mike Calvin who fell on the ice and then perservered injury and pain, not to mention a wheelchair. Thankfully J-Law has made falling at the Oscars a sign of true entrance into the Hollywood ranks.
